Hello, I’m Nina

/Nee.nuh/

Welcome to my corner of the internet!

I’m a product designer who loves a good challenge. With a passion for thoughtful problem-solving and a knack for blending creativity with strategy, I enjoy crafting intuitive solutions that bring clarity to the chaotic and delight to the everyday.
I have a passion for creating accessible space that not only remove barriers but make everyone feel welcome regardless of ability.

My 9 to 5

Currently I am completing my Master of Information at the University of Toronto in User Experience Design. I am the Chair of Accessibility for the Accessibility Interest Working Group at the iSchool. Previously I’ve had the privilege of doing a Co-Op at SE Health as an Employee Experience Designer. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of British Columbia.

My 5 to 9

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me playing video games, travelling, or exploring local restaurants (feel free to ask for recommendations!). To balance my love of food, I channel my energy into weightlifting or singing karaoke (depending on the mood). These moments give me time away from the screen to recharge and fresh ideas that I bring back to my projects.

My Superpower

Empathy-Driven Research

As an anthropologist, I’ve always been drawn to uncovering human stories. These stories shape my design solutions, helping me create work that truly connects with people.

Inclusive Design Champion

I believe design should empower everyone, not just the majority. I’m passionate about creating experiences that remove barriers and make people feel seen, no matter their ability.

Self-Starter

Whether it’s diving into a new tool or tackling a complex problem, I’m always ready to take the initiative and keep projects moving forward. I thrive on finding solutions and turning ideas into action.

Comfort in Ambiguity

I find clarity in the undefined, thriving in spaces where creativity and problem-solving intersect. Ambiguity fuels my curiosity and pushes me to be innovative.

Forest adventure

Where I’m From

I was born and raised in a city called Vancouver. It’s not unusual for me to start my day hiking through a forest and end it by watching the sunset over the ocean. The calm of the forest taught me to find beauty in the details and appreciate moments of stillness, while the ocean sparked my curiosity to explore new possibilities.
These experiences shaped my approach to design, where I strive to create balanced solutions that feel intuitive and leave space for discovery.

My Education & Growth

"I’ve always been fascinated by human nature, how we think, interact, and create meaning in the world, so pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology at the University of British Columbia felt like a natural choice.
My background in anthropology has given me the research skills to dig deeper, empathize fully, and design experiences that truly resonate with users.
